Comparison of Electromyographic Activity during Barbell Pullover and Straight Arm Pulldown Exercises

Pullover and straight arm pulldown exercises are commonly used in resistance exercise programs to improve sports performance or physical activity health programs. This study aimed evaluate the individual electromyographic (EMG) of pectoralis major (clavicular, sternal, costal portions), latissimus dorsi, anterior deltoid, triceps brachii, rectus abdominis muscles a barbell pullover at 100% biacromial width 150% compare EMG these selected exercises. Twenty healthy physically active adults performed set eight repetitions each against 30% their body mass. The presented higher (p ≤ 0.01) than both widths all evaluated except for dorsi brachii.
